It's funny, I handwring about steroids on olympics like everyone else, but I would put Ben Johnson to shame with the way I played summer games. You could totally cheat on the pole vault by going under the bar, and get a 9.7 degree of difficulty in diving by switching between a pike and a tuck.
Awesome. I was just talking about this game with someone. Perhaps the first and last strenuous video game.

What about the original? I used to be so good at that when I was real little (6), but by the time I was 8 or 9, I could never reclaim my former glory.

It was very strenuous.
I recall a football game with a huge trackball you had to pound with your palm to move your runner that was strenuous as well.
