Re: I Could Go On

Give 'em hell.

You know what's nice? A walk in the park.

3

I have printed Avery mailing labels with "www.optruth.org" and begun to place them on these lame-ass magnetic non-stickers.

horizontal rule
4

The only thing worse than having fucking idiots around is being beaten by them after working our collective ass off. Us workers worked, I don't think our leadership led. Could happen again too.

horizontal rule
5

In the spirit of bipartisanship, I'm going to agree with baa. A walk in the park is nice.

In the couple weeks right after 9/11, "United We Stand" meant "Don't beat up on Sikhs -- or even Muslims." Two weeks ago it meant "Support our troops." Now I'm afraid it means "Surrender or get out of the way."

It was a lovely visit, so long.

Actually, while I was out for a walk on Saturday I saw the greatest constellation of bumper stickers ever. It had the "Support Our Troops" thingie, but it also had "I love my church," and "Billy Graham: LA Crusade" plastered beneath it. On the other side it had a "Kerry/Edwards" sticker.

Now, mind you, this is California, but not all is lost.

Really? Damn. I would so much rather be right than live in a hopeful world. Which makes me think that someone had added the Kerry/Edwards sticker, and the car's owner, being a Christian mouth-breather, naturally, hadn't figured out how to remove it.

Nice try though, Yuri.

I'm sure the real ogged will be along shortly to delete comment #9, since it appears to have been posted by an impostor.

horizontal rule
11

That wasn't distinctive oggedian humor?

horizontal rule
12

The phrase "Nice try though, $name." is distinctively oggedian, and we can precisely for that reason be sure that ogged didn't write it, for just as the absence of camels proves the Koran to be Arabian, so too the presence of something oggedian proves that ogged did not write it.

If you're really sure, b-wo, I can ban the IP address, but there might be far fewer posts thereafter.

horizontal rule
14

If you did ban your own IP, would you be able to access the administrative page to un-ban it?

horizontal rule
15

Oh, and this bit of pedantry brought to you on behalf of Michael: the cases you cite: camels in the Koran::distinctive phrase, aren't analogous at all. In one case, we have an absence in the text due to the ubiquity of the thing in life; in the other case, we have regularity in the text, and that's all. I'm banning your IP address.

You know, if I remember correctly one of the corners of the Kerry/Edwards sticker looked like it had been torn off ... Of course, that could just as easily mean that someone else tried to tear the sticker off the bumper of an actual Kerry-lover. Or it could even mean that she had the sticker for a really long time, and it's aged. She might have even been pissed that she didn't line the sticker up perfectly on the bumper, accidently tearing a piece off in her mad lust for Kerry.

Unfortunately, we'll never know until we send her to Abu Ghraib, put a leash around her neck, shove a glow-stick in her rectum, and take polaroids.

17

I like the way you think.

horizontal rule
18

Ogged, if I could, I'd offer you a drink.

horizontal rule

It's a good thing I meant that argument in the utmost seriousness! Since I myself believed in its validity wholeheartedly, you can be most assured your stunning rebuttal has laid me low indeed.
