Re: What else is wrong with Kansas?

1

it's like the catholic church, only more intrusive! Sex is dirty and bad! Bad bad bad! Naughty Z00t!

2

Started reading, couldn't help but think: pleasedon'tlettherebeanimagelink

horizontal rule
3

smasher, well done.

horizontal rule
4

It's about people who are 16, rather than below, but if he really wants to hear about sexual activity among high school students he should just read New York Magazine.

Also, I can't read "womb babies" without laughing, or at least smirking.

horizontal rule
5

Oops.

horizontal rule
6

I'll give you 3 to 1 odds that Phill Kline is indicted for child molestation within five years.

Phill Kline? But i just met him!

horizontal rule
7

I'm guessing child pr0n.

horizontal rule
8

Wouldn't the very reports he's requesting be child pron?

horizontal rule
9

Child text pron. I wonder if that's different.

horizontal rule
10

Reading about this makes me wish I was 15 so I could go to Kansas and have protest sex.

horizontal rule
11

Unprotested sex is dangerous, y'know.

horizontal rule
12

"Safe sex" is the self-delusion of shallow souls.

horizontal rule
13

Child text pron. I wonder if that's different.

Unprotested sex is dangerous, y'know.

Not as dangerous as unprotested text.

horizontal rule
14

6: I'm so not taking those odds.

horizontal rule
15

Yay! Now no sexually active child in Kansas will dare speak to a medical professional or a therapist! As soon as they get pregnant we can just lock 'em up! Sex the way God intended: shameful and dangerous and criminal!

horizontal rule
16

OT: shouldn't you be posting as "The Apostropher"? or are there other ones out there?

horizontal rule
17

mike d -- 'Postropher is a proper noun, not a title. 'Postropher is the 'Ero.

horizontal rule
18

au contraire mon frère.

horizontal rule
19

mike d, the very post title you link to contradicts your assertion.

horizontal rule
20

Yes, but the post body supports it.

horizontal rule
21

What is to be done?

horizontal rule
22

shouldn't you be posting as "The Apostropher"

I've never referred to myself as "The Apostropher" or "the apostropher," only as "apostropher." You all can add a definite article at the beginning if it makes you feel better. I'm not picky about it.

But ya doesn't hafta call me Johnson.

horizontal rule
23

But ya doesn't hafta call me Johnson.

But what if we wants to call yer Johnson? Does 'ee have 'is own number?

horizontal rule
24

Obviously Apostropher's Johnson is "The" apostropher.

horizontal rule
25

When will we finally give fetuses the vote, in the district in which they reside?

horizontal rule
26

Obviously Apostropher's Johnson is

...the apostrophallus.

horizontal rule
27

But I realize that's a mouthful, so Spanky will suffice.

horizontal rule
28

that's a mouthful

That's what she said.

horizontal rule
29

This is so ass backwards, I don't even know where to begin.

Pretty much. It's under the rubric of 'preventing sexual abuse', of course, but all it's going to guarantee is that the only source of information kids have about sex is other kids, which tends to be of the 'how do you know if he used a condom?' variety.

horizontal rule
30

Well, there's always teh internets.

horizontal rule
31

Totally - they can just google "sex" and see what they come up with.

horizontal rule
32

Yeah, cause I'm sure they're learning in school that Planned Parenthood is a reliable source of information.

Grr. I wish kids were smart enough to use teh internets, but I ain't holding my breath.

horizontal rule
33

they can just google "sex"

Oddly enough, the first google hit for 'sex' is:

Sex, Etc. - A Website by Teens for Teens

Advice for teens about sexuality, contraception, drugs, smoking, and related topics. Project of the "Network for Family Life Education," Rutgers University.

horizontal rule
34

Well there was that whole thing last month, with Kurt Eichenwald and Justin Berry...

horizontal rule
35

Wow, pwned, but for a good cause.

horizontal rule
36

Instead of "womb-babies", how about "wombies"? (Rhymes with "roomies", not "zombies".)
