How can the entire set of {flophouse residents} not be going, in some sort of giant squid costume? (Or octopus? I am forgetting |flophouse residents|.)

I think a better use of money would be to send "presidential pseudonym" what s/he needs to communicate with his/her husband/wife in jail.

Word is that the event is being rescheduled (presumably due to it being a horrible idea).

It's been delayed until August, catherine sez.

How can the entire set of {flophouse residents} not be going

Probably because the set {flophouse residents} contains only one member.

Totally off topic, but I have to say it somewhere here. I just got my first brazilian from a charming Persian lady, and am deeply, deeply amused that she spend the whole time Bush-bashing. The problem is that holding back laughter is not quite the same as relaxing, so it was a painful sort of amused.

Now we're into human trafficking, too? Ye gods.

I'm ready to throw frisbees or whatever it is Megan considers foreplay. The thing keeping me is that my frequent flyer mileage won't apply to any dates in July, except July 4, and I'd prefer not be in the air wherein bombs are bursting.

I was going to say that Iranians probably have an ancient eyebrow- and back-waxing tradition to draw upon.

30: I think Indians do that also. It's called threading. I've never felt tempted to try it though.

Dude, come one, there's gotta be a way to get you out here in July. I'll pitch into *that* way before this masquerade ball.

I'll make my way out there, Ile. I have to go to see an artist whose work I'm curating for a show here in the District, so it's only a matter of time. Whenever she has enough work ready for me to sneer at see, in fact.

No, I did, I'm just joshing. As it stands it's a single artist show so most of the work is already done (I picked the artist).

I don't know what it is about Jeff Wall's work that does it, exactly, but it's amazing how commercial his works look even though he's not using such a different process from Gursky or others doing large scale. They look like for a very wonderful commercial world. It just shocks me that he's doing something with color that's so overt but hard to appreciate—like maybe how Edward Hopper uses a tame palette to achieve his gnarly, irradiated-looking scenes.

You could always buy a ticket, especially if you raised your price on this "blogger party" (sponsored by Budweiser!?) to the cost of a coach ticket from DC to the Bay Area.
