But the good news is that of the people there whose political leanings I had prior knowledge of, or that revealed themselves through the inevitable, but carefully coded political talk, I counted 6 for Obama*, 1 McCain and 1 "undecided". Plus 4 furriners who will be casting their Obama votes as Mickey Mouse and Duran Duran tomorrow (Thanks ACORN!).
*So of course we had a great time in the restaurant, talkin' about profits, father raping, coöpting the progressive agenda, all kinds of groovy things that we was talking about in the restaurant.
This would be a good time to reiterate that I am angling for minimeetup in LA this Friday evening. So far there are four to five of us, which seems good enough unless I hear that a bunch can do it some other time.

I voted. Was in line at 6 am and waited about an hour.
we were in line at 5:45 am. I was out of the door by 6:20 am.
Ditto 16- got to voting at opening, already 120 people in line. Voted same time in 2004 and there were about 20.
I'm expecting no line at noon (there's usually not even one after work), but we'll see. My polling place is the nearest one to Obama's East End office (also just a block from the mini-meetup).

It's raining in NC. Normally, that would favor the GOP by depressing turnout. However, with Obama have banked a big lead during early voting, it might be just the opposite this time.

Surprisingly quiet at my polling place this AM, I was voter #56 at 7:40. Got my neighborhood as my second batch* to canvass, so popped in the house to piss and do a quick obsessive cruise through the tubes looking for data to keep from being incapacitated by my recurring Post-Traumatic Election Loss Disorder (so someone do what PGDS says in 34).
*Got halfway through my first, but then got booted out of a big apartment complex where the rest were. Back at the office we found a resident there who will try to stealth them in. So unpleasant when tacky things like elections intrude on the serenity of the Xxxx Luxury Apartments.
