Re: I Do Know That A Cello Isn't A Bass

The vigorous playing technique reminds me of the big Snit.

I first looked at this post on a computer where I am having the Firefox video caching problem so it showed the "Phallic Symbol at the Denver Airport" video.

More barely suppressed homoerotism in this video.

As they start playing in this one, you can see that there are already stray hairs on one of the bows, which makes me wonder whether they break a few hairs on purpose so as to make the dramatic bowing more obvious.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Apparently that is an alternative form. People use it?

Speaking of homoerotism, new Anthony Weiner photos, apparently taken in the House gym. The first three are the winners.

Parsimon, if you'd just follow the guy on Twitter you could probably get even better ones right from the original source.

This is clearly because they are itinerant street musicians, going from one plaza to another to bring delight and amazement to the masses who at first pass them by, but then are drawn in, forming large crowds.

But I want to get to the bottom of it! I don't understaaaand! Did Tony (I think we can call him that by now) send these things to a bunch of people, all of whom are now coming out of the woodwork to forward them to TMZ? Because that's rude of them. Or did someone get hold of Tony's camera somehow?

I'm doing my best not to sigh here. Also, the third photo isn't bad.

Tony probably wants you to get to the bottom of it too. Tweet him quick before he gets "treatment".

Tweet him quick before he gets "treatment".

This treatment thing interests me: I gather we're to consider Tony a sexaholic of some kind. Perhaps he considers himself that, now.

Yet we know perfectly well that quite a few people engage in the viewing of porn, and partake of phone sex (and cybersex) chat lines, during which they presumably jack off. It all interests me because Tony's, erm, exposed adventures are embarrassing everybody to death, and people seem to be telling him that he has a *problem*, in which case a great many members of our society have a problem as well.

There must be a standard-issue cultural psychology term, or set of terms, for a society expressing horror at the outing of something it wants to deny anyone does.

The treatment and leave of absence thing are the first developments that make me think maybe he should resign. Just do your job, ok? The voters can take care of your rehab plans next year. This just goes to show that the framers were right to put a two year term on the House.

I assume that "entering treatment" basically means "renting rooms in a secure luxury retreat where he can just shut up and think for a while about how much he's fucked up."

I heard/read the treatment thing prescribed -- suggested -- a couple of days ago, as a way to rewrite the saga as Man Does Wrong, Man Makes Good, Rehabilitates, Man Returns. The suggestion was that Americans love a rehab and forgiveness story.

Or at least the map designers. One downstate district has to go, I suspect they're looking at his. They may already have been given that he was planning on running for mayor in 2013.

It's important that we establish the precedent that any politician who comes to the attention of Breitbart gets his district zoned out of existence.

How grim, Walt.

I had, though, heard somewhere that Weiner's district was under consideration prior to all this hoohaw. Unfortunately I do not remember where I read that; in a Balloon Juice thread, perhaps, which means it would be impossible to find again.

OT: Did everyone else know that in first class they bring you cookies and sparkling water and let you sit a couple of rows behind the guy who played Paulie Walnuts on The Sopranos? Because I can see why people would keep such sweetness under wraps, really.
