Re: Last-minute DC Meetup

Sad to see this thread empty, not counting the ToS, for so long. Well, I'll look forward to seeing again the people I've met before and meeting any lurkers or new people who might show up.

Also, it will just be Molly and me, so you don't have to worry about any small children besmearing you with ketchup

So if you find yourself beketchupped, you have only adults to blame.

"Don't worry: it's artisan ketchup. Cask-conditioned. Hand-stretched. The recipe came from an interpretation of an Iron & Wine song."

With more notice, I may have been able to come. Would be glad to see DC folks sometime.

If I had a dollar for every time a woman has said that to me...

Should we start deciding on the Sir Kraab installment now?

12: I haven't started making a lot of plans, so you get first dibs on my schedule. U St.-ish or Chinatown would be good. Really, anywhere on the Red or Green line. Or the 42 or the 52 or any of the S's. Damn, I miss public transportation.

Damn. We're fringing this evening: Divas just want to have fun, down near the Convention Center.

Maybe next time.

We'll be leaving soon. I'll be wearing a red ragebunny t-shirt.

Leaving soon myself. Should be there on time or maybe five minutes late. Wearing a shirt with a rocket-powered cat on it. Doesn't this group love cute shirts.

15: Have fun there. A friend of my girlfriend's actually wrote one of the plays, "Stanley Anne", a biography of Obama's mother. I liked it.

Cecily is at the bar doing a crossword, and her phone is being dumb, so you kids should post a comment with your location. I'm not clear exactly what's wrong with the traditional beacon call, but I guess she's a prude.

Maybe she's worried about offending any Maryland or GW fans at the bar.

Local 16 meetup has now moved to a table. Four people, near the bar but not actually at it.

Dangit. If I'd seen this earlier I'd definitely have stopped by with the younger of our offspring. Boo. That'll teach me to spend the day out in the world and away from the computer.

I totally did the traditional beacon call, but nobody seemed to understand the ASL.

The meetup was very fun. Let's do it again in a week or so! People with schedules should say when they're free; I can do any evening in the 21-29 range as long as it's reserved relatively early on.

I probably should have gone to this. But I was, and am, very tired. And I have to get up early in the morning tomorrow. All terrible excuses, I know.

Anyway, I'll be out of town all of the 21-29 except the 29. But I'll be around for all of August, should there be yet another meetup then.

Never fails, does it? Somebody does something in DC and I can never ever get there in time.
