The home owner has 24 hours to decline my offer, but I submitted my credit card info and everything. So there's an outside chance the VRBO listing could change, if that happens.

So the plan is, we all meet up at the Rolling Thunder thingie and have a "Four Dead in Ohio" dance-off?

God damn it I don't even see my actual vote of Palm Springs or my telepathic write in of the Wacken Open Air Festival listed. I demand a recount.

What happened to the entry where people indicated how much utility they would enjoy by attending the meetup? A blip in the mouse orgasms could swing it for PGH.

There have been plenty of opportunities to comment on how the survey should be structured. What's done is done.

In addition to the WMYBSALBism of 17, allow me to append the general sentiment of 5-8-11.

(originally had it as "LBism" but that would be confusing.)

Is this the thread where we ignore all the previous work and start hashing out whether Unfoggedydodecacon should be in Palm Springs vs Portland, possibly on Memorial Day Weekend?

I say Portland. Though the sex grotto is tempting.

Somebody should set up a survey or something.

heebs, you are awesome for having done the work on this.

On logistics:

I assume the big party will be Saturday night? M/tch and I will be available during the day for grocery shopping and set up.

We should set up a Paypal account so people can kick in for the cost of the rental, food, and booze. I know the trip itself is going to be a big expense for a lot of people, and it should definitely be sliding scale. Maybe someone can come up with a back-of-the-envelope budget so we can determine a suggested contribution?

I'll definitely kick in a higher amount. (Though how much higher depends on whether I get the far less lucrative but far preferable job I'm hoping for.)

I'll volunteer to put together some ideas for other get-togethers over the weekend.

What's the best way for us to keep track of things? Something like Google Docs but that doesn't require everyone to have gmail?

Prairie Home Companion is at Wolf Trap on Friday night and Sat night every year that weekend. Sure, it is cheesy. But fun.

I will have my daughter but we are coming up for at least some of the day stuff.

This is a pretty straightforward way to keep track of stuff--just a shared text file, with colored text to track who wrote what. Plus, I'm sure the name will annoy Halford.

set up a Paypal account

This is a good idea. It may be that relatively well-heeled commenters who have no plans to be there would like to subsidize part of the trip for less affluent commenters. Not me, mind you, but maybe Halford.

There will be a paypal account. There will also be a forthcoming thread on various things like: how many people want to stay onsite? Is there interest in setting up a group baby-sitter? Etc.

Thanks for putting all this together, Heebie. Glad DC won, albeit mostly for selfish reasons. Sorry to all the losers. Wait, there must be a better way to say that.

38: Probably. Maybe even two, if we ever manage to find the pump for our air mattress, but very probably at least one place to sleep. I'll add a note to that effect at the link in 30 after I (a) check to make sure, and (b) get home tonight, because the link in 30 isn't working for me. Stupid work filters, keeping me from some kinds of time-wasting but not others...

I'ma be fine by then. beside, fucking physical therapy is lame.

51: Go for it. It's not that close to the rented house, but it's on the same metro line, so you could just get on one train and stay on it for like 15 stops until you're at the house.

I think the metro system would be relatively easy to get around with in general, but judging by where the house is, the easiest is anything on the blue or orange line, like that one.
