If you go barefoot, I'll donate one day's worth of clean water to a sad child or throw water balloons at people waiting for a bus.

Neutralizer can have some comfortable and cute shoes. Not like super fashion forward but something you can walk in for a couple hours.

The standards in women's shoes are so high.

If you're willing to wear leather in the presence of The Bell, these seem like a good compromise for cute, not insanely uncomfortable, etc. Of course, you should wear Vans.

What kind of heels are you looking for? Pumps? How high? What kind of feet do you have (narrow, wide, any particular foot problems)? In what way are the heels that you currently own uncomfortable? We need more information, please.

I should add that I'll be wearing a big flowing caftan. I decided that I did not want to look like I desperately wished I'd lost some weight - ie nothing that looked like it was supposed to flatter an unruly body. The caftan is loud and has a plunging neckline, and I truly enjoy wearing it.

I think I usually find heels uncomfortable because I don't actually have the foot strength to walk at that angle for very long. Maybe a pair of boots would be better.

The only thing I know is wide, chunky heels are much more comfortable than stilettos. Width of the heel is more important for me than height, as long as the height isn't ridiculous.

That definitely has something to do with it, but heel placement is also super important. There are skinnier heels that are centered at the exact right place under your foot to best support the weight, and once you've had on a pair of those you can almost understand how people can go on about how comfortable their Loubuotins are.

What I see lots of at the malls are very high-heeled ankle-boot-like things. They look to have much more support than the naked foot+heel porn shoes. I couldn't tell you about comfort; what I've seen are many women walking quite rapidly on uneven surfaces in these whatever-they're-called.

Are Miz Mooz in general comfortable? I have been tempted, but they get mixed reviews on Amazon and I hate returning shoes over the Internet.

36
Earth shoes need to be adjusted to. They mess with your inner ear stability(?) and cause minor nausea when you first wear them, according to someone I know with earth shoes.

I hear sneaker wedges are on trend for this season. Or you could buy rubber bands to gather the hem around each ankle and turn your caftan into a very low crotched harem pant jumpsuit. That would also incorporate many of this season's trends. It would also use up the excess fabric and allow you to wear flats.

oh, I'm sorry I was too busy yesterday to make a recommendation -- I meant to go home and check the brand of some two inch slingback sandals I have that I think are very comfortable. They're pictured at the other place in the photo album called Fireball Masquerade, and also in the vampy-secretary-with vending-machine-and-washer-dryer series I did with my friend a few years ago. This is the style, though not the color/print I have: http://www.zappos.com/bella-vita-wren-tribal-print-kid-suede
These look very similar: http://www.zappos.com/bella-vita-whim-mayan-print

Most of my shoes hurt my feet now. They weren't in great shape before (yay, bunions) but pregnancy seems to have completely destroyed what little structural integrity my feet had. Well, that's not entirely true. They're fine if I'm barefoot. I can't tolerate any kind of heel over an inch; even boots with wide heels hurt. So I'm rocking some preppy tassel loafers and hoping that the skinny jeans make it look cool rather than matronly/elderly.

I wish you luck in your shoe hunt.

I have a pair of Vivobarefoot casual shoes that are very old but great for walking, but they're not to my taste for a dressier casual shoe. So basically, I'm vain, but won't wear heels or ballet flats. Which was fine, when my boots didn't hurt my feet!

So, the Miz Mooz shoes came. The part that straps over the toes-end of my foot is pretty loose, but I think if I went a size small, my toes would hang off the edge. Yes, I suppose I'm saying I have skinny feet, which shouldn't even feel like a humble brag but then why am I dancing around it?
