Yes, he's the host of the series.

Over the course of the episode Seinfeld talks less and Oliver talks more. If you want less Seinfeld you could start at 3:48, listen to the story that John Oliver tells about his wife, and then skip to 5:23. You'll still get some Seinfeld, but you won't have missed anything important.

Why don't I like Jerry Seinfeld? I mostly love snarky, ironic, self-deprecating Jewish comedians (I mean, as a kid, watching syndicated reruns of The Dick Van Dyke Show, I had a weird crush on Morey Amsterdam, fer God's sake), but Jerry Seinfeld I do not love. Do I have some sort of irrational prejudice against Long Island? Or do I just not like the guy?

Anyway, I'll sometimes watch "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee," but only for the guests, never for Jerry.

I've only watched three. This one, the one with Garry Shandling which was linked by a bunch of people after his death, and one other. The thing that I appreciate about this one is that it's clear that Jerry is in the position of an ex-athlete doing color commentary.

He knows that John Oliver is way hotter and way sharper than he is right now, but he brings to the conversation the experience of somebody who's been there and had those experience, even if he's well past his "playing days" at this point.

Was it the Obama one? Because that was pretty sweet.
