Anyway, I've never tried celery water, but it must taste just horrible or taste just like regular water.

I only drink asparagus water.

That's just slang for urine.

I get what heebie is saying, but I'm not sure it's all the same kind of thing.

Is drinking celery juice obsessively, the same kind of thing as memorizing the batting average of every player in Major League baseball?

That easy. They're all from .100 to .450.

And then there's those of us who know which baseball players drink celery juice and draw graphs showing the correlation between celery juice consumption and batting average.

It's ridiculous to just say celery juice. There are over a dozen different varieties of celeries, each one with significantly different amounts of vitamins and minerals.

And that's not even getting into the different kinds of juicers!

Also, batting average is a useless statistic. A single is not equal to a home run. A sacrifice fly that scores the winning run should not be counted the same as a strike out.

Don't get into any kind of juicer. It's not safe.

Skimming over the book description on Amazon left me with the distinct impression that the people who wrote it are absolutely insufferable.

I mentioned to someone that I pretty much only do things obsessively. Either I do a sport for ten years or never try it once. He said, oh you're a diver. He contrasted that with being a dabbler. Based on that conversation, I'd say getting deeply into things is definitely a type and that not everyone does it.

10: A sacrifice fly is not counted the same as a strikeout. It's counted as an RBI and doesn't count as an at bat for computing batting average.

17: Thanks! I thought that might be wrong. I know very little about baseball and close to nothing about celery.
