Re: Don't worry about it.

That's going to backfire quickly and for very obvious reasons, but it's good to know they are still deeply committed to undermining America in any way that doesn't involve effort on their part.

I don't quite understand why HHS is depicted as necessarily more inherently political than CDC. There is a different culture, I accept, but CDC reports to HHS and is also headed by a horrible political appointee.

I can say that some data has already routinely had to be reported to this same portal and was the basis to distribute some of the CARES Act hospital relief funds, but I guess this is more data. The states are collecting it too.

We will no longer be sending out one-time requests for data to aid in the distribution of Remdesivir or any other treatments or supplies. This daily reporting is the only mechanism used for the distribution calculations, and the daily is needed daily to ensure accurate calculations.
Nice patients you've got there, it'd be a shame if they didn't get any medications.

God! Teporting on Republican administrations is amazing. I feel like the phrase; "...who fear the (blank) will be..." usually implies some uncertainty about the outcome. Am I wrong?

Wasn't there a story about how they were planning to send National Guard to hospitals to directly collect the data? Truly bizarre.

5: Yeah, apparently the original idea was to send in the National Guard to individual hospitals to collect data. They backed down from that once it leaked and everyone pointed out how crazy it was. I guess this is the backup plan.

The main plan is to test less so more people die quietly.

No worries though because Ronny Jackson, Trump's original WH doctor (who was also Obama's for at least some of this time) has won the Rep primary in a heavily red district in Texas and is surely on hos way to Congress. So there will be a Doctor in the house. (Am sure there are some already there, actually.) He seems to have gotten increasingly crazed since his potential appointment as VA director got torpedoed.

Does the President actually have this authority?

If Trump loses, he's going to openly try to kill people by negligence between the election and the inauguration.

Like sending Betsy Devos to force the schools open? He really is trying to kill us all.

Like just ordering PPE piled up and burned plus forbidding mask-wearing by his minions.

Remember when he was intercepting shipments of PPE that blue states had ordered for themselves and having Jared give it to his buddies to sell in red states? Good times.

No, you could do it to a Republican but the only way for it to happen would be for the Democrats to have control at least one of the houses of Congress.

I doubt seriously that this administration will be able to (1) set up a working database before November or (2) secure said database such that the raw data won't instantly be dumped anyway. Also, 10.

So apparently hospitals are mandated by law to report this data to the CDC and following this memo could get them into deep legal doodoo
