As the document clearly states, if you go to a school, you're on active duty. Bush went to flight training. No one is arguing that. Bush said he was in the Air Force. This doc shows why he said that. What's so difficult about that?

The Air Force specifically states that the training period for ANG members is NOT considered being on active duty with the Air Force- you are on Guard active duty. Bush was never a member of the Air Force, according to the AF itself- yet Bush made that claim and continues to do so.

Simply check Bush's DD-214, discharge certificate. By law it must list all the serivcies Bush was in.

Page 9 of the PDF files at USA Today have a copy of Bush's DD-214 .Block 4 clearly states "Air Force".

So, yes, Bush was officially a member of the US Air Force. Its there in balck and white.

I don't know what has happened to the Democrat party - have they lost their minds? There are plenty of better things to argue about Bush, and lies from Democrats like this one only hurt Kerry.

OldSpook, can you show me a link to the document you mean? I don't want to get this wrong...and I agree with you that this is trivial, I just didn't want to let Drudge get away with a cheapie...
