Re: The language of morals

Is anyone else hearing "Oliver's Army" playing in the background today?

"moral values" = "I hates me some faggots"

"strength and resolve" = "kill more Muslims"

This was an ugly campaign, to be followed by an ugly four years. I have to agree with that Jefferson fellow: I weep for my country when I reflect that God is just.

Someone said regarding the President:

No, not moralizing per se, but a grotesque parody of moral thought.

-------

1. Groupthink. 2. Groupthink. 3. The Pres only gets 4 years. 4. Groupthink. 5. Watermelons and David Duke , McVeigh nutjobs are the extreme. W is a moderate conservative.

If the phrase 'W is a moderate conservative not a right winger' burns, consider the voting record of Kerry.

JFK was nothing like wannabe JFK2.

Nothing.

I consider Rice to be BRILLIANT. I consider Powell to be honorable.

Jesse? Kofi? Condi?

Why is Condi spit on? Answer: the left hates black and Jews. Only 'good' blacks and Jews need apply.

:-(

Please. The left is blacks and Jews. The left hates the right. We're pretty equal opportunity about it.

Moral values.

They voted for a candidate whose policies have led to the torture of innocent prisoners, the unnecessary deaths of soldiers, and an increased risk that New Yorkers and Bostonians will be murdered in our sleep by terrorists. They might not have realized they were voting for that, because they were too worried about with the danger that two loving adults would be able to get married in a civil ceremony, visit each other in the hospital, inherit property, have joint custody of children, and equal immigration rights.

That's about the most immoral rationale for casting your vote I can come up with.

If there's another attack on New York City*, I will know precisely how seriously to take the headlines that claim "We are all New Yorkers"**.

*or an attack on Boston, Philly, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington--you know, any of our enclaves of decadent liberal elitism.

**or Bostonians, Philadelphians, San Franciscans, etc.

I just wish, on those questionnaires of voters' top issues, one of the options had been "I hate gay people". Then we'd have something to work with, instead of what we all know but no one will admit.
