Biology! Or should I say Ecology and Evolution? We were at a party a couple of years ago, and an old man took a shine to the "pretty young lady," and then he found out that she was part German (bad WWII memories), part Russian (bad Korean/Cold War memories), and finally, that she studied evolution. I'm not just telling tales when I say that with each revelation, you could see him harden; he went from deliberately sitting next to her to leaving without saying goodbye.
Maybe you should go to parties with a younger crowd?

Hmmm, a party with a guy who still hasn't gotten over WWII and Korean prejudices (to the point of snubbing people because of their ancestry) and who's hostile to the theory of evolution?
