What's your problem, w-lfs-n? Didn't I ban you once today?

It didn't take, I guess.

Plus, I thought that's what I was here for.

Yes, but "and etc." is a breezy turn of phrase, not an error. You know, I almost posted this story about the four-year old today, just to take a shot at you, but (foolishly, it turns out) let you off the hook.

I know that you know that the "et" in "etc" stands for "and"—but many in your vast readership may not! It was them I was thinking of.

Besides, sloppy language leads to sloppy thought!

I think you mean that "et" means "and."

Appropos of Ben w-lfs-n's disgraceful sloppiness, my modal logic professor employed the convention that the names of sentence elements just were the elements themselves, thus avoiding the need for hik to ever care about use/mention on the chalkboard. I thought this inspired.

Ben W, don't go to grad school or it may inspire you too!

FL ... it shouldn't be a film. Better as a reality TV show, I think.

Is "hik" a gender-neutral third-person pronoun, or a mistake?

Neither; it is an interjection.
