Re: Wrong, and Wrong

I don't know if this is of local interest just to Chicagoans, though I'd hope not

No, it's not just of local interest to Chicagoans, transplanted or otherwise (anyway real Chicagoans don't get goggle tans in February).

This is blind, stupid, vicious, self-destructive, utterly unreasonable and thoroughly poisonous hatred.

Agreed. But it's not like having a judge killed, simply because they ruled against you is acceptable, either. I know you're not saying that it is, but whether or not Lefkow was "on his side" is, I think, irrelevant.

True true. I think Zorn's point is that Hale is just that stupid.

Never going back, baby.

I didn't click through, but Zorn might be the one missing the point. Once you hear a guy shout "WHITE POWER," you pretty much know he's idiot; the bit about the ruling of the judge doesn't really add more information.

Might I suggest that real men -- from Chicago or otherwise -- don't get goggle tans in February, or March, or April, or fucking ever?

I read 1 without clicking the link, desperately wondering how a fellow could get a tan from Google.

And what kind of geek cred that would bestow upon a fellow.

If you're talking about Gizoogle, though, no explanation required.

Spoken like a true, and truly envious, Londoner.

I'm no Londoner, ogged. If I were, I'd be tempted to hunt you down and headbutt you after drinking 11 pints of shitty beer. Consider yourself lucky.

And what am I supposed to be envious about, anyway? The girlie goggle tan? Please.

Weren't you the one working down the street from Lucy Mangan?

Yeah, but I'm 100% Yank and I actually live an hour outside London in a picturesque Sussex village, where the pheasants outnumber the people (and the sheep are nervous).

That's a pretty fine distinction. I'd say it makes you even more envious; not of the tan, per se, but of the conditions of the possibility of the tan, as Kant might have said.

A fine distinction? By that logic, living in England makes me English. In fact, a Newcastle native who lives in London just popped over to try to get me to do some real work, and if you called him a Londoner he'd give you a right kick in the bollocks.

a right kick in the bollocks.

We Americans call them "balls".

I've definitely lost all respect for Hale.
