I once overheard a violent argument taking place right outside my apartment--a man threatening to kill a woman if she didn't shut up, sounds of slaps, &c. It was summer and my windows were open and I could hear it so well it was like it was happening in my apartment. I called the cops but they had moved out of my street shortly after I made the call.
