Re: Charles Johnson Probably Shouldn't Come To Singapore

Singapore is the wave of the future. Get used to it. First they conquer China, then the world.

Are there any places that Charles Johnson should go?

w/d, I can think of one. It starts with "h" and rhymes with "screw that guy."

If one is misanthropic enough, one might not actually mind if he were to go to Singapore...

Surely one doesn't have to hate all of humanity to think that.

True enough. One just needs to hate certain opinions enough to wish prison time on their holders.

Hue that guy?

I concede that Hoover High was better.

The hatred of Charles Johnson here is amazing. He blogs about actual acts of hatred by Muslim extremists and their apologists, and you guys jump on him for it. Talk about shooting the messenger.

Some of Charles's commenters (among thousands) may occasionally post racially (or, more likely, religiously) offensive remarks, but Charles himself is no racist.

Plus, Middle Passage had some awesome capoeira action for a National Book Award winner.

Middle Passage is a very good book. The online book discussion group I was in a few years ago had that as the first selection. The second was The Violent Bear It Away, and then it just sort of petered out, as such things usually do.

I was going to suggest that Charles Johnson go to San Andreas, but I cannot confirm that that's actually the name of the character. Anyway, he was an excellent blocker/no. 2 wide reciever, but after Thigpen left he couldn't carry the burden.

GB: Here is my account of why the proprietor of LGF is responsible for the sometimes quite overwhelming level of racist vitriol in his comments.

Interesting quote from the post Weiner linked to, back in January:

But, if there are enough comments, it's hard to keep up. Even on this relatively tiny site, there are days when I have trouble reading all the comments and still getting anything else done. On sites that get hundreds of comments in each post, reading them could be a full-time activity.
