This is the one that Americans should look at. More context here.

Why just Amurickans?

[Anyone else in favor of using "Amurickans" when referring specifically to people from the US of A? Less awkward than USian...]

I think we should just call them blogs.

Touché, sir.

But that leaves still unsettled the question of what we'll be calling blogs.

First nations?

Well it certainly wouldn't do to use this objectionable word to denote something other than the sigificand for which it was coined.

Kieran, you know that most of the people reading these comments are aware that these things have been going on, and that they share, generally and for the most part, an opposition to the war in Iraq. Saying "Americans should look at this" in this context comes across (at least to me) as either silly (because preaching to the choir) or hectoring (lo, let us flog ourselves anew).

Maybe Kieran just meant "Americans in general" not "youse guys."

I remember the picture with the little girl from when it ran in the NYT.

Lots of stunning photos, though I thought the tennis picture wasn't especially striking, just shadowed.

And it was almost late morning, Arizona time. Good point, Tim.

Still, I'm sure that if you asked right, you could get someone here to flog you, Labs.

Hey, did you know that they don't have Daylight Savings Time in Alaska? Bet you don't know when their TV shows are on!

FUCK FUCK FUCK Alaska s/b Arizona I suck.

Seriously, I wonder when TV shows come on in Arizona; if they always are on at 7, then during Daylight Savings Arizona won't get them at the same time as anyone else, I think.

They have no more DST in Alaska than they have in Arizona.

Lots of stunning photos

This one, however, totally got robbed. I guess the World Press just hates America.

why on earth does alaska have daylight savings time? Isn't it, like, dark 24 hours a day in the winter and light 24 hours a day in the summer? So moving the clock around is meaningless, right? or do they just want to mess with the television schedule?

This one is amazing, though it does "beg the question" of what kind of nutcase runs a marathon in the Sahara.

Probably the same kind that runs the badwater ultramarathon.
