Re: Information travels faster in the modern age.

What an obvious fraud. It's actually from an intersection in suburban Istanbul.

While I, too, noted the obvious fraudulent nature of this post, I tried for a full minute to assign identities of the meet-up folks to the people in these photos.

Apo, do you realize that pork products no longer need to be thoroughly cooked? Trichinosis is almost unknown in the US, and the few cases there are come from wild bear, wild boar, and free-range pigs.

This is a public service announcement.

Apo, what search terms did you use to find those pics? Was "gaywad" among them?

I was psyched to see an Astaroth on the far right side of the top photo.

Man, I used to kick some serious as with Astaroth on Dreamcast Soul Calibur II. Those were the days...

Your day crawling by slowly, Apo?

I'm fairly certain that that's the well known Steven C. Den Beste who's squatting in the top picture; and I think the bearded fellow standing next to the bulls-eye flag in the second picture is the current President of the League of the South. The third picture just makes me giggle.

Interestingly, taking pictures for the purpose of later posting them was discussed.

What was the result of the discussion?

Well, the discussion was about tongue length, so we started comparing and the night went on from there.

So we should anticipate tongue pictures. The expectation has already been set. I'd hate to be disappointed.

We survived. I never did get to see Tia and Jackmormon press their long tongues root-to-tip, though, which is all I wanted out of the evening. I assume there's a conspiracy afoot to keep me unhappy.

You know, pictures could give evidence of length, but daguerrotypes would reveal much more.

This is it for the meetup post? Teh lame. We want scandal and embarrassing detail.

Well, I wasn't there, B. I'm sure an attendee could provide more detail.

20 -- traditionally the "meetup post" has been written by somebody who was at the meetup. This would be more the "meetup ressentiment post".

Me? How am I letting y'all down? I have the least reliable, most intermittent access to the internet of anyone who was there and can make posts.
