The Janus-faced Weiner feigns innocence, though he well knows his own name should be on that list, due to his own efforts.

10: And here again, epistemologist by vocation, employer of highly dubious logic by avocation. The mere fact of observing that you had tried to insinuate yourself into Becks' affections does not constitute an attempt, on my part, to arrange a match, thus no secret passion of mine is revealed by transitivity or any other property.

Which is the true Weiner? Does he even know anymore?

The act of noting that I desire Becks is itself an attempt to fix us up, because I am so irresistible that on learning that the shining glance of Weiner's attention has fallen on her she must inevitably succumb.

Or: I didn't try to fix us up before, either, I just betrayed my own secret passion.

It's gotta be one or the other.

I think TMK has me confused with another. Or, perhaps, the Becks that would fall for Weiner is not the True Becks but the one of TMK's invention.

Will there be interest in food at the meetup, or are we drinking our dinner? (Personally, I vote for Zeitgeist, since the weather should be nice enough to sit out back and there'll be plenty of space, but as a lurker I don't know how much my vote counts for.)

I can get to a meetup between 7:30 - 8. (Meaning surely by 8 but may show up earlier.) I have no concept of SF geography or drinking establishments so will gladly just show up where told.

Hmm, now that I am looking at a map I see that neither Orbit nor Zeitgeist are more than minimally BART friendly. On the other hand, if Becks can't come till 8 you probably shouldn't plan around me at all---I have immovable obligations on the other side of the bay and was only hoping to drop by for an hour or so. I may have to encourage the fruit of climbing plants to seize the day some other time.

Sorry to be popping in and out unpredictably -- I can probably do 7:30 if it's closer to Union Square. Would that be closer to the Financial District and, therefore, better for Saheli?

Also, I heard that Zeitgeist is where Drinking Liberally is held on Monday nights so that could get a little crowded.

Ah, yeah, you're right about Drinking Liberally, though the backyard at Zeitgeist is so big I can't see it being a problem. Union Square would in fact be closer to the Financial District; there's also North Beach and SOMA. I can go pretty much wherever.

Ok - 2 places near the financial district. Please pick one, boys. Bacchus Kirk at 925 Bush Street or Hyde Out at 1068 Hyde St. (Sorry - no links. Commenting from my phone.) If we meet in that part of town, I can do more like 7:30 and it will be closer for Saheli. Saheli - would that work for you?

Oh wow, you really shouldn't plan on me, b/c I really do have immovable obligations that may make me a giant flake. Between those two Bush Street slooks better, but can I suggest something in North Beach? (I know it's almost as tacky as the Financial District, but as a bridge gal I'm sentimentally attached to them) Vesuvio's or the recently shown to me by a native, Spec's? Both near Columbus and Broadway, I think Vesuvio's is 255 Columbus.

Thirsty Bear is still a bit East for me. Can't guarantee I'll be there by 7:30. I looked for an alternative but I've been Googling for like a fucking hour and can't find anything (1) open on Mondays (2) that serves food and (3) is above Market Street.

OK, I'm making an executive decision because I have no more time to deal with this. Murphy's Pub on 217 Kearny Street at 7:30 PM Monday night. They have food. I emailed both of you (Josh and Saheli) some additional info, too.

WMYBSALB, Josh?

It was either between the Irish Bank or Murphy's Pub. I just picked one. Irish Bank is also open on Mondays. I really don't care -- they're right around the corner from each other. If you can vouch for Irish Bank, that's fine instead.
