Re: Durbin

Durbin doesn't breathe too much fire, but he's for sure not a run of the mill Wimpocrat. Even a tiny little bit of integrity and backbone makes a guy look like a superhero these days. Plus, if you watched the Pryor hearings, Sessions *really* pissed him off. At the end of his last statement, Durbin practically slapped his (own) microphone onto the floor.

Fire-breather or no, he's always been a stand-up guy, and has been a worthy successor in the Senate to his mentor Paul Simon.

Wait, you're jhp from the Crooked Timber discussion about Posner and VCRs. We can't agree.

I heard some of the Pryor hearing on the radio today and that's what made write the post. But it does seem that he's been the one Democrat lately who's willing to state the obvious.

Oh, shoot. Um... Durbin is an ice-cube sucking arch-conservative who wants to outlaw fun itself and make even mild amusement a misdemeanor!!!1!

Though I don't think we really disagreed that much -- about the quantity of silliness that flows from Posner/Sony/whoever, I'd say, not the fact that silliness does flow.

But I'm pretty sure that horse is still dead... Yup. Dead.

I like to think we broke in the Crooked Timber comment board. And left something to let others know we'd been there.
