Data point: I sort-of-delurked for test #2, which was the only one I was actually around for.
I feel rather computer literate but i really have no idea what all these tests are doing: perhaps they're just a way to make our ips generate spam to pay for next month's server bill.
I think it's more of a "Let A Hundred Flowers Bloom So We Can Cut Off the Tall Poppies" type of campaign.
