GOGOL BORDELLO IS GREAT

I'm not entirely sure why, but my apathy for Gogol Bordello is as utterly undying as my apathy for, say, the Polyphonic Spree.

That's interesting Tarrou, because both bands really have to be seen live to enjoy them. Gogol Bordello is more interesting musically obvs, but seeing Polyphonic Spree live is, at least, a spectacle. Have you seen either of them perform? I second Ben's recommendation, it's impossible not to have an awesome time at a GB show.

No, no, no. Not perversion. The relationship-free life!

I am as pure as the driven snow, if the dataset is prepped carefully enough and if the proper technical definitions are in place.

So I don't know a damn thing about gogol bordello, but let's say I wanted to take w-lfs-n's recommendation that I see them when they're in my area seriously. Is there some website where I can record my interest in seeing musical artists a, b, c, d, etc. and said website will later notify me if that artist is within some predefined distance of my home? If not, why hasn't some entrepreneur created it?

You might be able to create watches like that on Upcoming, but you're at the mercy of others to update it with your desired infos.

Or you could just just seduce ben's phone number, then call him every morning at 7am and ask him which show that evening is worth your (well, his) while.

If w/d lived anywhere near me, that might be a viable plan.

Except that after two days of being called at 7am I would surely kill him.

I was particularly fond of the fact that w/d would be calling you at 4am local time. Don't hate, ben. Love.

I'd just tell him to go to the Stone.

You could also do a google alert at:

http://www.google.com/alerts/create?hl=en

for:

[A OR B OR C OR D] AND Tour AND [your city]

This might give you too many hits but you could narrow it down more.

Crazy awesome old violinist Sergey Ryabtsev is indeed a Gogol fixture.

w/d, I don't know where you are so this might not be useful, but try tourfilter.com.

Also, pollstar.com, which doesn't seem to have an alert system, but the city search is helpful.
