Re: Regret

Nice post, except when did we have any cold, bitter Winter? There were like a couple of cold days in the past month I'll grant you, but hardly a winter. Today is a very nice day it must be said.

Time to buy a man-purse! Target carries some nice, inexpensive, faux-leather shoulder bags.

Yeah, Becks, get a man-purse already.

Or just wear some manclothes. Manclothes are lousy with pockets, mostly.

Get tactical. You have to take a special course so you can remember what's in each pocket 'cause using a flash-bang to light the grill is embarrassing but that shouldn't be a serious problem.

If I had all kinds of cash, I would get all of my jackets relined with those nifty manpockets.

There must be a possible joke based on the premise of "womanpockets."

Maybe said joke would also involve use of the term "fluffy sausage wallet"?

"Nice post, except when did we have any cold, bitter Winter?"

Well, this is the first four days without snow on on the ground since October, here in Boulder, Colorado. It was still below freezing last night; I don't believe we've yet had four nights in a row where it hasn't gone below freezing, since last October. The last snow was only six days ago, and it's snowed at least once a week (usually 2-3 days) since October; I'm quite sure that there hasn't been as much snow on the ground here since I moved here five years ago, and that it's never been such a long, cold, snowy, winter, anywhere any year I've ever lived anywhere, including my majority of years in NYC, and my one winter in East Lansing, Michigan. I mean, it's been five and a half months with almost non-stop snow on the ground, and a return to snow -- and I mean feet of snow, not little flurries -- at least every four days or so for that entire time.

Since you ask.

Man but you lot are really phoning it on on this beautiful, sunny day.

What is the etymology of "phoning it in"?

I spent a week in Utah that was bitter winter. Last week in sunny SoCal, it was cold enough at night that we had the heat kick in. Now it's 80 degrees here, we haven't had any rain to speak of, and we're red-flagged. [Fire warning] Next week, who knows?

This is almost as good as living in the Berkshires: "Hot & sunny, turning to sleet mid-morning, becoming a blizzard by noon, 6 to 42 inches, followed by warm. moist, tropical air, which will probably bring severe thunderstorms and a floodwatch."

On the subject of pockets: Camera bags do nicely - they have separate pockets and, depending on the bag, can be customised.

Clearly, someone needs to make a photographer's vest in dupioni silk and call it couture.

as I recall, Beck's already has an excellent Queen Bee womanpurse. Becks, maybe you just need a new spring model.

Smasher complains about me phoning it in after being the one who dragged me away from the computer for a lovely walk and to eat soup and bread pudding. Pshaw!

Fact: w-lfs-n has a Queen Bee manpurse.

In Dallas, we are already preparing the air-conditioners.

Weird. We are thinking of moving North for retirement. Kentucky and Oregon may become retirement communities in the new age of global warming and expensive energy.

I have apostrophitis. I used "it's" incorrectly earlier. And now "Beck's"? The shame.

Becks, which one do you have? (The Queen Bee womanpurses are most excellent, but they are a little lacking in pockets.)

I have this one. My only complaint is that if you have a lot of stuff in the bag, the strap kind of cinches it, making the shape distorted. I fixed that by putting a pin on the strap that catches it at the right width, keeping the strap the length that I want. (don't know if that makes sense)

24: I've had the same problem. Also, the strap tends to skid off my shoulder when I'm wearing certain clothes. (I've got Chirp.)
