Re: Wilson, Plame, Rove

So are you on the hook, now? Does "fingering" count as "touching"?

If Rove were set to be put on trial, wouldn't he resign in disgrace and be pardoned after the election? Or would Bush II's loyalty mania lead him to stand by his man?

It does count as far as I'm concerned. If Wilson's charge turns out to be true, I think Bush is done--whether or not he boots Rove.

This is not just about Rove leaking --which is criminal in and of itself. It's about the motive for the leak: it was punishment for anyone daring to take issue or to question the panoply of blackhearted lies that Bush told to get this country into a ruinous war.

The ENTIRE Bush "occupancy" should resign. But sanity among the NEOCONS is too much to hope for.

Rove is a civilian and- I'm speculating here- not cleared for secret information except on a need-to-know basis. So, assuming Rove is the guy who outted Plame, who told Rove? Could only be Cheney or Bush! Providing classified information to unauthorized personnel is a felony. This is going to cause more than just a ripple in a pond- it's a tsunami coming up quickly and it's gonna sweep away every rotten piece of wormwood in its wake.

One of Digby's commenters is speculating that it's Bolton or his people. I present that for what it's worth, having no way to judge it. (I mean, it seems like the sort of bullshit Bolton would pull, but there are so many people in the Administration who would pull that sort of bullshit.)
