Is she famous?

Yes. Perve on!

I think she's cute. I just hope she doesn't turn into another Lindsay Lohan or something.

I don't want you to think that my 2 is a reflection of knee-jerk pro-perve tendencies. Panettierre is distinctly pretty, but doesn't look particularly sophisticated or mature, so perving on a 17-year-old Panettierre would be, in my view, too early. But with only a month to go until it's not perving anymore, now's the time.

10: Will, don't bother. She's very close to half my daughter's age and couldn't be more interesting or accomplished than any "Real Doll" in the company's stock. Wikipedia provides all one needs to know if one needs to know.

I really liked that show, despite the fact that I found many of the characters (inc. the cheerleader) sort of irritating.

16: From last night's observation at a distance of ca. 30 ft, Naomi Campbell is every bit as skinny as one would think. But not as tall.

From a slightly more distant observation, even though she's not all that, she's still got more presence than anyone else who was on the runway. (Though that could be an advantage of having top billing: don't cast anyone with more presence than you've got.)

10: or just go to NBC's Web site. All the episodes of "Heroes" are up there in streaming video. To be more specific, during the season, they were available as early as 6 a.m. the day after they aired, though they weren't always up right on time. I don't know if they are all still available and will always be, etc. It's a really good show, I think, but while I hesitate to recommend TV shows to strangers, you don't have to let a lack of TV stop you from watching it.

I don't get 11.

One of the main advantages of perving, as opposed to actually hoooking up with, is that you get to avoid people's really dull personality.

I'll be perving on her the moment she cuts her hair in some sort of short helmet-bob style, assuming that's after she turns 18. The all-American long blonde hair thing just doesn't do it for me.

mrh: I can't get over the "Time magazine" cover thing. My dad actually bought that magazine and brought it home for me; no pressure. Masi Oka seems to be an all-around amazing dude.

No disrespect for Mr. Oka intended, but what's the big deal? Is he not just an actor who happens to have a more interesting day job than some?

Well, he's an actor who's become amazingly popular for playing an incredibly endearing character, who happens to have a remarkably cool day job. Walking around campus with him at the last reunion, I was impressed with his graciousness at being stopped every 15 yards by some fan wanting a picture. I'm not sure I would be able to avoid becoming a dick under that kind of pressure.

Plus, he's also playing an adorably nerdy character, while actually being a technically accomplished nerd. It's like if the actress who played Willow on Buffy actually was both that nerdy and a babydyke!

I'm pretty sure this phenomenon is responsible for a great deal of Samuel L. Jackson's popularity.

Also a Jedi Master.

[Woo, tangent: I think another significant part of his appeal is that a large part of straight, white nerdy male America is just seriously gay for a certain kind of black masculinity. I've always been a huge Tarentino fan, and was marathoning a bunch of his stuff while sick a while back, and man, I'd ppicked up on the whole "Quentin is a foot fetishist, a sub, and seriously hot for Uma Thurman" thing really early, but I hadn't quite realized just how much he wants to make out with Samuel L. Jackson.]

that a large part of straight, white nerdy male America is just seriously gay for a certain kind of black masculinity.

Lot of jealousy there too. Nerds might be able to talk themselves into believing that they could be as badass as Ewan McGregor, but a big black dude who can pull off a purple light sabre? No way.
