Re: Well, That Was Surprising.

Glad you are not injured. Good time to remind everyone to update their emergency preparedness plans for natural and man made disasters.

Ditto.

On that note, I bought 6 bottles of wine and a case of water.

That is indeed good news, I've been watching the coverage (NBC is now showing the crater from a helicopter) and hoping no one I knew was near by, though with 15 reported injuries it seems unlikely.

Yes, all my friends tend to cluster in enormous groups too. You couldn't get one of them without getting a couple hundred of them.

I mis-typed. I meant that with only 15 reported injuries it was exceedingly unlikely that I would personally know any of those people.

It is a funny feeling; heard a loud noise, looked out of my office, and saw everyone else on the floor filing quietly into the exit stairwell. It seemed like an overreaction, but I figured who wants their last thoughts to be 'How was I to know they were right?'

In retrospect, overreaction.

One dead (cardiac arrest) two critical, and twenty total according to the NYTimes just now. Seriously, why would leaving the building be an over-reaction? Big explosions can mean fires later. We have mandatory office evacuation drills out here at least once a year and they're taken relatively seriously.

No long runs because I'm not worried about it, and because of the hip deal. But I'm thinking a 20K in 3 weeks, so...

Also, that doesn't show swimming, but I'm doing that from time to time... I'm up to a mile, and again, not worried. Plan on doing a lot of it during the winter. And by it, I mean swimming, and not sex. Much to my chagrin.

Having sex with a dolphin requires a lot of trust, but even the nicest dolphins have trouble figuring out that you can't hold your breath for ten minutes.
