We were discussing Slade's greatness a couple weeks ago, and now I see that the first contender has emerged for the title of Slade of the New Millennium.
/rimshot/. Thank you very much, I'll be here all week. What's that? Only the incidentally german-literate think this is funny? Well, it's not exactly like I'm trying to appeal to a large audience is it? /rimshot/. In fact, the smaller my audience is, the more special I feel! /applause/ Have you ever noticed that when you play highly idiosyncratic music, some people mock you? Who are these people? /laughter/ Do they spend their time reading obscure internet sites and then criticize them when they do silly things? I mean, what is the deal?
You don't need to be german-literate, you just need to know the band's name (it's Einstürzende Neubauten). I guess it helps to know that the umlaut has been moved to a kind of nonsensical place, but it's really just amusing b/c the guy who wrote is ostensibly a dj with years of experience and a fan of the band.
I'm confused, ben. Is there a radio show today? What time and what is the link? I may listen.

9: Unless there are multiple doom-metal bands named Boris, probably the Japanese band that recently released Pink and has even more recently released a sludgier collaboration with some Japanese dude whose name escapes me.
10: Whoops, I mixed up their collaboration with Sunn O))) with their collaboration with Michio Kurihara, but still, they should be easily findable now.
I played Boris Grebenshikov on my show once. w-lfs-n doesn't have to play him if he doesn't want, though.
