Re: "Dated"

Shouldn't that be "Who's Dated Whom"? Clearly, we can't take them seriously. [/w-lfs-n]

Apologies, Ogged. I interrupt your Dated post to bring you this news:

(CBS News) The Justice Department on Thursday said Internet service providers should be allowed to charge a fee for priority Web traffic.

The agency told the Federal Communications Commission, which is reviewing high-speed Internet practices, that it is opposed to "Net neutrality," the principle that all Internet sites should be equally accessible to any Web user ...

Supporters of Internet regulation have said that phone and cable companies could discriminate against certain Web site and services. However, the agency said it will continue to monitor and enforce any anticompetitive conduct to ensure a competitive broadband marketplace.

Yul Brenner: Damn. OTOH, I'm not sure how much to trust the site, as Sophia Loren apparently dated only two celebrities.

Jack Johnson's can't possibly be right. Lupe died 30 years before he was born.

And Mae West? I suppose it's possible. Little Jack would've been at most five years old.

Pamela des Barres, and her English ex-patriate husband Michael are just incredibly cool.

Pamela was a member of the GTO's, one of Zappa's side projects, and is probably the most famous LA groupie. A plaster-caster, IIRC. She wrote a very funny book about her groupie years.

Michael was in the 70s glam group Silverhead. I have their best album "Sixteen & Savaged" Michael did, and still does, some acting, he was a semi-regular in "MacGyver"

Terrific people, they were interviewed for the film about Rodney Hickenlooper. Smart, funny, centered. Pamela will always talk, she shows up a lot on TV. I also remember the beautiful & tragic Christopher Jones crashed in her crib for a while.

Did people do plaster casting besides Cynthia Plaster Caster?

Des Barres' memoirs (I'm with the Band) seemed pretty good when I read them fifteen years ago. She claimed Don Johnson had the biggest member she'd (yet) encountered.

McManus commits unforgivable factual errors and is not trustworthy. He even talks about himself in third person sometimes.

It was Rodney Bingenheimer, not Hickenlooper. Hickenlooper maight have made the movie about Bingenheimer.

And although there are two cuts on Permanent Damage titled "Miss Christine's First Conversation with the Plaster Casters of Chicago" and "Miss Pamela's First Conversation with the PlasterCasters of Chicago" I have not listened carefully to see if techniques & tips were exchanged. The GTO's might have been registering their offense & disgust with such outrageous behavior. They were nice girls.

"Oh, Rodney, if you introduce me to Mick Jagger
I'll let you meet my little sister
She's only twelve years old!"

The Bankhead wiki is a kick.

She was known to have stripped off her clothes on several occasions while attending parties, which shocked people in attendance, but nonetheless she remained magnetic to those who knew her well. I don't understand the "nevertheless". (One of her grand entrances was a pantiless cartwheel.)

In 1933, Bankhead nearly died following a five-hour emergency hysterectomy for an advanced case of gonorrhea, which she claimed she contracted either from George Raft or Gary Cooper. [4] Only 70 pounds when she left the hospital, she stoically said to her doctor, "Don't think this has taught me a lesson!"

When I took U.S. History in high school there was a semester-long assignment to read a biography then give a presentation on the person. One girl did Tallulah Bankhead. Unfortunately her presentation came right at the end of the class period, so she only got as far as the youthful lesbian coke-orgies before the bell rang.
