Indeed. I just realized it was 20 years ago this month that my father died. Of all the cruel tricks life will play on you, taking away a parent just as you're entering adulthood is one of the most gratuitous.
After things settle down some, be sure you and your mother go do some gratuitously nice things for yourselves, teo.

Went through it in December 2005, right before I showed up here. If it's been coming for awhile, if you haven't really been able to communicate for a long time, you thing nothing much will change, that you've already adjusted, that nothing new will occur to you. You'll be wrong about that.

less than 6 months prognosis, my brother has two gorgeous toddlers who won't remember him really and if I ever have kids they won't know him. We all have a great relationship with him and wouldn't be done talking in 20 years.
But I've had that into my 30s so can't be too sorry for myself when I think of Teo's loss.
