Sometimes you hear about how they do things outside of America, and you say to yourself "They are so much more civilized than we are. They really have their priorities straight." This is not one of those times.

5. Man, now I'm seriously curious.

I have a very strong memory of reading about some writer or a writer-like character in a novel who always washed his shirt up every night in the shower, and came down to breakfast slightly damp. It's one of those images that made a great impression on me as an adolescent reader but has been completely unmoored from its context.

I haven't been able to find it, but there's an explanation somewhere in the archives.

Explanation here, although no one is excused from reading the archives. Homework for the holidays, people

ok, what was the deal with the redirect - in firefox - to some page that tried to open a pop-up while doing a flash based 'your computer is infected with malware' message, and then an alert at the end go to www.malware.com to get it removed? Was this part of the pure genius experience?
