Re: Spreading joy

You can listen to their whole album here.

Not sure if 'joy' is the most precise word for what you're spreading, though.

3: Read, don't feel too bad about that. I've done the same thing when I was living abroad. It's one of those things that no one thinks to tell you.

Racist.

I've done the opposite -- back in college, I had a temp job during a semester I was taking off, and on a Friday someone told me that the Monday was Patriot's Day, a holiday in Massachusetts. So I didn't go to work on Monday. This was, as it turned out, a poor idea.

A friend asked me what I was doing for the long weekend. I haven't had to be anywhere for work in a month, and my first class is Tuesday, so I started to think of the entire winter break as a very long MLKJ weekend.

Oh crap, this means no one will be at the college where I'm teaching to show me where my office is and fill out paperwork.

That was wildly self-centered, wasn't it? MLKJ Day is one of the few holidays I actually like.

I went to work today, and lo and behold, everybody was here, and I have work to do! Fuckers.

I was just coming on (in?) to say "Happy MLK Day!" to everyone. I see you've started without me.

M/M/ & I are headed out to Austin's annual MLK Day rally & march, for which the weather is almost invariably gross. Today it's mid-40's and drizzling. Ach, it could always be worse.

Hmm, that sounded like going to the march is a chore, which it isn't. It's one of favorite things to do every year. I just wish the white supremacists didn't control the weather.

11=>14 and 11=>16, too. Damn, I think I'll just sit here all day and dispense absolution for offenses against the memory of MLK.

Hey I don't need no absolution; talk to the boss.

I have to work today, and although state law says I get paid time and a half on federal holidays, I will not be paid time and a half, because my boss is both cheap and sketchy.

AWB is also down with this one.
