That looks like someone photoshopped clothes on a guy in an energetic porn.

I intentionally avoided the photos of women because I assumed they'd lead to sexualized jokes.

How does giving gifts work in your family? In this kind of situation, I think my wife would start a Ralphie-like subtle campaign to give me hints that she might want this for Xmas. And then she might suggest that I could give to her early, because why should I make her suffer for so long?

what's wrong with a lacrosse ball? i suppose it won't go on both sides of your bones, but you just lie on it (or push it against a wall) on each side in turn.

Men's Journal ?

I am a man and I like journals, but this sounds like one of those things made to deplete self-esteem that grocery stores put in the checkout aisle.

Maybe one of those huge rubber balls for sitting on would also work for this?

I've used a rolled up towel, and a foam roller (perpendicular to my spine) to do this, as per recommendations from a physio and from a doctor (who was also an osteopath and various kinds of possibly dubious spine cracking merchant). I'm not sure if those look comfortable, but I'm somewhat interested, I have to admit.

now recalling that the way to get the rail track effect is put two balls in the end of an old stocking, tie a not, adjustable for width. tennis balls softer than lacrosse, and control the force by pushing against a wall rather than lying on the floor. honestly if physical relief is what you seek it's suuuuper cheap to achieve.

I read enough "lifting weights helps with back pain" anecdotes to start trying it myself a few months ago. My back still feels sore in the mornings but at least it's the exercise kind of soreness instead of the being 47 years old kind.

Since this is the fitness thread -- Did any of you notice that soon after I posted about my one simple trick for perfect wellness, the NYT ran this article? -- https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/12/well/move/balance-exercises.html?searchResultPosition=8

Since then I watched a video in which Paul McCartney demonstrates "eye yoga" so now I've combined my balancing on one leg with eye yoga. Eye yoga (based on the 30 seconds of the video I watched) is looking up and looking down while keeping one's head still. Maybe also side to side? Maybe that was in the later part of the video I didn't watch. (now I will be waiting for the NYT article about eye yoga)

Also jms (I believe) commented that she washed the dishes while standing on one leg. This is very impressive, but I would never try that. I've broken enough dishes standing on two legs.
