Apparently WTTW is now famed for being run by morons. There was a Tribune magazine cover story about how the current management has ruined the station just a couple of weeks ago.
One of the most amusing tirades I've ever eavesdropped on was a young Chicago Tonight staffer, uh, 'discussing' how much she hated Sirott and the management of the station and how very, very, very stupid she thought they all were. Luckily Sirott hasn't taken over the whole show, so there's still some enjoyable Phil Ponce guest-skewering most nights.
Ahem, I Bob am Bob Sirott. I was once a halfway decent journalist -- one who wore skinny ties to match my smirk -- and my tenure on the short-lived primetime magazine show "West 57th" along with Meredith "The View" Viera is incontrovertible evidence of what I might've become. I have Emmies!!!
