I kind of know what stras is saying. The consensus that "things are hopeless, anger is useless" that tends to form in politics threads often scans to me as having an "anger: soooooo unfunny & uncool" subtext. (Though obviously plenty of the most enthusiastic prophesies of doom are entirely in earnest).
Just to comment on other threads here, the whole thing about unfogged being like Seinfeld to people who don't read here seems accurate. If I didn't comment, I'd probably find this place numbingly dull. Like Seinfeld, which I don't watch. I never thought Seinfeld was uninteresting to the people who participated in or watched it.

Which Meters did you get? The older stuff is just like you describe, but they get pretty damn funky later on. At least the Rhino Best Of seems to indicate that.

Bolt-on necks are fine. There are people who claim that set-necks and through-necks are over-rated.
